Jobless rates saw little to no change at the local, area or state levels with the May report.
Locally, Emporia’s jobless rate stayed flat at 2.6 percent. Lyon County’s rate went from 2.7 percent to 2.6 percent.
Areawide, Coffey and Greenwood counties had flat rates from April to May, while other surrounding counties had marginal declines. Chase County has the area low at 2 percent. Coffey County has the area high at 3.5 percent.
The statewide rate was 2.9 percent, unchanged from April.
