Injuries were reported but no transports were necessary following a two vehicle injury accident in front of the Emporia Municipal Airport Sunday afternoon.
The accident was reported at 12:55 pm at the intersection of Road 120 and South Kansas Highway 99 and involved a 2012 Honda CRV driven by Michael Schippers and a 2007 Mercury Milan driven by Sage Gorman. According to Lyon County Deputy Benjamin Folks, the Schippers driven Honda sideswiped the Gorman driven Milan in a passing zone in front of the airport.
Gorman sustained undisclosed injuries as a result of glass that flew from his window. He was examined at the scene and declined medical transport. Schippers was unharmed.
Both individuals were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
