The Kretsinger Subdivision hasn’t been in the news since late last year, but the Emporia-Lyon County Metropolitan Area Planning Commission may take notable action on the property at its meeting Tuesday.
The property near South Exchange and Soden’s Road — near the David Traylor Zoo — is earmarked for over 50 homes to help alleviate the city’s overall housing shortage. The Planning Commission is set to consider the final plat, or division of the overall property into smaller parcels — including property lines, streets, utilities and flood zones — for the project, thus setting the table for final action by the City Commission at a later time.
The only other item of business for the board is ongoing discussions about potential changes to the city’s zoning code.
The meeting is at 6 pm Tuesday at the Municipal Court Room.
