As it moves towards establishing emergency services for women and possibly children in crisis situations, Southwick House is now seeking a full-time executive director.
The director will oversee the day-to-day operations as well as oversight of client services. A degree from a four-year college or university, preferably a graduate degree, or experience working in non-profits, as well as at least three years of relevant leadership roles, experience with “diversified sources of income,” strong communication skills and an ability to work on behalf of at-risk communities are all desired.
This is the latest step in resuming the work of the longstanding Plumb Place, which had to go into receivership after ceasing operations at the end of 2020. Lyon County District Court has ended receivership after approving a new board of directors earlier this year for Southwick House, which honors Plumb Place’s original benefactor, Carrie Plumb, by using her maiden name for the new organization. Southwick House is still determining how best to serve the community, including services and locations.
Candidates interested in applying are asked to email a resume, cover letter and contact information for three references to Southwick House President Joelle Spotswood at jspotsw1@jccc.edu.
