Emporia State moved up 70 spots from last year in the Learfield Directors Cup standings. Emporia State had 15 sports that placed nationally in NCAA competition this past school year. They finished in 118th place. Emporia State athletic Director David Spafford said that puts them on the path of where they want to go.
The Director’s Cup measures the overall strength of an athletic program based on NCAA postseason play.
Spafford said he is excited about the future at Emporia State.
14 MIAA schools were in the top 200, nine were in the top 100, and 6 were in the top 50. Northwest Missouri State was the highest-ranked MIAA team at number 13.
