Though she may be gone, the memory and legacy of Amanda Rodriguez is still alive and well as evidenced by the turnout for a special fundraiser Friday evening.
The second annual Amanda Rodriguez Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser filled the Del5ive Event Center in West Emporia all to support scholarships for higher education. Rodriguez passed back in 2020 due to complications with COVID-19 and left behind a legacy that centered around her love and passion for bettering the lives of students.
Rodriguez’s brother, Nuestra Musica host Vic Rodriguez, says it is amazing, even after her passing, to hear from all of the individuals she touched and inspired throughout her life.
Vic Rodriguez adds that he is not the only one who is making the effort to keep her legacy alive locally.
Along with door prizes and several giveaways, Friday night also included live music from San Antonio, Texas, based group LaDezz.
Totals from the fundraiser are currently pending. For more information on the Amanda Rodriguez Scholarship Fund visit the Nuestra Musica Radio Show Facebook Page.
