The Emporia 16s baseball team finished fourth at the Topeka Scrappers Tournament Saturday.
Emporia wrapped up pool play with an 11-0 loss in four innings to Andover Central. The 16s followed that with a 6-5 loss to the Topeka Scrappers in the third-place game.
Against the Scrappers, the Scrappers held a 4-0 lead after scoring three in the first inning and one in the second.
Emporia tied the game at three in the sixth and took a 5-4 lead in the seventh before the Scrappers rallied with two in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off win.
Max Rusco went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs. Caydrick Crouch also went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Against Andover Central, the Jaguars scored four in the second and seven in the third for the run-rule victory. Emporia was held to two hits.
The 16s are now 8-13 on the season. They’ll be off until July 10 when they host Newton in a doubleheader at Soden’s Grove.
