The Sertoma Club has free miniature train rides all this month, thanks to Kent and Natalie Schnakenberg.
On KVOE’s Morning Show recently, Kent Schnakenberg said this is a repeat of last year to a degree, when the Schnakenbergs celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary and offered free train rides as a way to give back to the community. He says the train is a special place.
Sertoma Club board member Vicki Brooks says the train is a local institution that her family has enjoyed for generations. In fact, the train is what got her pointed to Sertoma — and she says she gets to see that generational joy when she drives the train.
The train runs four days a week — Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 6:30-8:30 pm and Thursdays from 9-11 am. More information is available on the Sertoma of Emporia Facebook page or by calling 620-412-3806.
