The 3rd annual Altrusa Golf Tournament is set for Saturday at Emporia Golf Course.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the tournament set for a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
Besides the tournament itself, event organizer Carol Lucy says the day will be full of activities.
The cost for the tournament is $300 per team and it’ll be a four-person scramble. Teams can be all men, all women or mixed. Participants will get two carts along with breakfast and lunch.
Altrusa’s mission is to give back and to serve the community by helping others serve one another. One of Altrusa’s main focuses is literarcy and teaching people at an early age to be literate.
Funds from the golf tournament will help support SOS, scholarships for students attending either Flint Hills Technical College or Emporia State University and literacy.
To register for the golf tournament, call Tidwell at (620) 340-7464, pick up a flyer at the Emporia Golf Course or participants can register the day of the event.
