Formal charges are on the docket after separate arrests on suspicion of offender registry violations in Greenwood County.
Deputies arrested Jason Travelbee in Madison and Mark Turner in Hamilton, with both arrests happening June 21.
Travelbee now faces nine total counts in Greenwood County District Court, seven of which are for aggravated violations of the state’s offender registry act after an aggravated battery and aggravated assault conviction in Sedgwick County in 2013 was folowed by an attempted violation of the offender registry act conviction in Lyon County in 2020. Travelbee also has single counts of interference with law enforcement and criminal damage.
Turner, meanwhile, has four counts, including two of failing to register after a 2017 conviction in Greenwood County on attempted electronic solicitation. Turner is also charged with single counts of drug and paraphernalia possession.
Travelbee has a status conference Aug. 18. Turner’s next hearing hasn’t been posted to the Kansas District Court Public Access Portal.
