The Emporia State football team is receiving more preseason recognition. The Hornets are ranked 18th in the College Football Network D2 preseason poll.
The Hornets are coming off a 9-3 season and return 15 starters.
Ferris State is the top team in the preseason poll. They are followed by Grand Valley State, Colorado Mines, Pittsburg State is ranked 4th, Angelo State, and Northwest Missouri State is ranked 6th.
The Hornets will kick off the 2023 season on August 31st at home against Lincoln.
