Lyon County fire departments handled a pair of small fires Tuesday afternoon.
Emporia Fire and Emporia Rural were dispatched to the 900 block of Riverview before 1 pm after several nearby residents noted smoke in a tree line. The fire was small. It remained in the trees and did not spread. The caus eis unclear.
Separately, Miller and Reading firefighters went to the intersection of Roads 310 and W shortly after 1 pm. The fire was reported as out shortly before 2 pm.
The fire in northeast Lyon County was caused by hay equipment. About three acres burned. No buildings were damaged.
