This week when Americans celebrate our independence this poem about farmers appeared on Facebook. Old friend Stephen Haught shared it, but its author is unknown.
What IS known is farmers as the poem says – are the silent heroes of the world.
And we thank them. Enjoy the poem.
Farmers are like the silent heroes of our world,
Working hard from sunrise to sunset, in heat and cold.
They take care of the land, and from it, our food they mold,
Their work isn’t just for themselves, but a story of care, untold.
No matter where we live – city, town, or fold,
It’s the farmers who fill our plates, bold.
Working the soil, planting seeds, and stories of courage they uphold.
Every bite we take has a farmer’s story waiting to be told.
So next time you enjoy a meal, remember this truth of old,
The hard work of farmers is more precious than gold.
That’s why we all, young and old, need to thank the farmers, bold.
Thank you to our farmers and everyone who supports their efforts in so many ways. YOU ARE APPRECIATED!!!
