Strong storms brought high wind and much-needed rainfall to the KVOE listening area late Tuesday night and early Wednesday.
Wind gusts reached above 70 mph in places like Admire and were above 60 mph near Emporia and in Hartford. Over 100 Evergy customers lost power as the storms rolled through.
Rainfall totals varied, depending on how many rounds of rain places received, and some totals were heavy.

Showers and storms could redevelop Wednesday afternoon. If that happens, there is a marginal-to-slight risk of hail and wind, with the dividing line currently from Hymer to Americus to Reading to Pomona. Areas south of that line, including Emporia, are in the slight risk category.
More showers and storms are possible Thursday night through Friday night. There is a marginal risk of severe weather for Thursday night and a slight risk for most of Friday.
