Tickets are now on sale for an upcoming event for the David Traylor Zoo and Emporia Friends of the Zoo.
The event Aug. 12 is called Zoo Brew: Night in the Wild, and Zoo Director Lisa Keith says it features food, music
It also features a unique look at the zoo operations.
EFOZ member Erren Harter says an event like this has been under discussion for two years now.
Tickets are $50, with the zoo open from 5-8 pm for the festivities. With alcohol present, the event is open to adults only and participants are told not to let the animals have any of the alcohol on hand.
Proceeds will support current and upcoming construction projects. Tickets can be bought through any EFOZ member or at the zoo’s temporary office at 517 Merchant. Residents can also call 620-341-4365 with questions.
