Lyon County employees have a new rate in place for mileage reimbursement.
County commissioners approved the adjustment as part of their action meeting Thursday. The rate, 65.5 cents per mile, improves the reimbursement rate of 58.5 cents a mile and goes into effect immediately. The county decision follows one at the state level earlier this year.
In unrelated business, county commissioners approved a plan to install a flashing stop sign at Fourth and Main in Allen, following a recommendation from the Emporia-Lyon County Joint Traffic Safety Committee.
Besides an action meeting next Thursday, county commissioners are planning a study meeting Wednesday to focus on the 2024 budget. Both meetings are set to begin at 9 am at the County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
