The Cleveland Guardians outscored the Kansas City Royals 10-6 Saturday. The Guardians scored 6 runs off of Royals starter Brady Singer in the first 5 innings. Cleveland put the game out of reach with 3 runs in the 8th inning. The Royals offense came to life scoring 6 runs on 12 hits. Bobby Witt Jr was 3 for 5 for the Royals with a home run and a triple. Kyle Isbel was 2 for 2 with an RBI and run scored. Freddy Fermin and Nicky Lopez were both 2 for 4. The Royals and Guardians wrap up their 4 game series Sunday afternoon. Ryan Yarbrough will be the starting pitcher with first pitch at 12:40 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 12 pm.
Yarbrough will be making the start a little more than two months after he was hit in the head by a 106.2 mph liner off the bat of A’s first baseman Ryan Noda on May 7, Kansas City is expected to reinstate Yarbrough from the 60-day IL in time to make the start in the final game before the All-Star break.
