An Emporia teen was hospitalized following a single-vehicle accident north of town Friday night.
According to Lyon County Deputy James Baker, a 1997 Chevrolet Pickup driven by 16-year-old Brook Moore was traveling north in the 2200 block of Road K just after 5:20 pm. Moore allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and entered a ditch where her vehicle crashed through a barbed wire fence.
Moore was taken to Newman Regional Health with undisclosed injuries following the accident and was wearing a seatbelt at the time.
