Announced earlier this year, the leadership transition plan for Pioneer Bluffs has taken shape.
Kansas native Christie Reinhardt has been selected as executive director after serving as Alaska’s program manager for the state’s Department of Health Perinatal and Early Childhood Unit.
Reinhardt will follow Lynn Smith, who was Pioneer Bluffs’ first executive director and is retiring after 15 years leading the nonprofit. Smith will help Reinhardt get acclimated to her new role, while Reinhardt will now be at Pioneer Bluffs most weekdays and for weekend events as she gets up to speed.
Location on Kansas Highway 177 near Matfield Green, Pioneer Bluffs was developed to preserve and share the ranching heritage of the Flint Hills region. The agency is considered a National Register Historic District.
