The Emporia Fire Department is investigating following a trailer fire in east Emporia Thursday afternoon.
The fire was reported around 3:20 pm at 345 Eveningside Drive. According to Emporia Fire Battalion Tony Fuller, crews arrived to find what appeared to be a trash pile on fire at the front entrance.
Fuller says the fire was beginning to move inside of the trailer but crews managed to knock the flames down before they reached too far inside. Fuller says there were no occupants in the trailer at the time of the fire and further details, including a cause and damage estimate, are pending investigation.
