Emporian Gentry Scheve has qualified for the US Amateur Championship.
The 2020 graduate of Emporia High qualified for the tournament in a US Amateur qualifier that wrapped up Wednesday at Firekeeper Golf Course.
Over the two-day qualifier, Scheve finished tied for second with a two-day total of 140. Scheve shot a 69 on day one and 71 on day two.
Scheve will play in the 123rd US Amateur Championship at Cherry Hills Country Club in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado. The tournament begins Monday, August 14, and concludes Sunday, August 20.
