Olpe and Waverly are welcoming one and all to their town festivals this weekend.
Olpe Downhome fills the Saturday schedule with activities including a run, meals, fishing derby, bed races, Olpe Fire Department fundraising barbecue, military service personnel appreciation activities, parade and street dance. City Clerk Joyce Wilson says it’s an important event for the community.
All proceeds benefit the town’s ongoing work to build a splash pad.
Meanwhile, Waverly is getting ready for its 127th annual Ohio Days will begin Friday and continue through Tuesday. Daily highlights include a 2K and 5K run/walk Friday’ a co-ed softball tournament Saturday; meals and games Sunday; a quilt show and annual parade Monday; and a stage show and baby show Tuesday.
