Home sales in Emporia and Lyon County were nearly at levels seen a year ago.
Sunflower Association of Realtors says Emporia had 56 homes sold in June, slightly below 59 in June 2022. The median sale price of $165,000 was up $30,000 year-to-year. Homes are still selling quickly — within five days of listing on average — and there is just over a month’s worth of supply locally.
So far this year, there have been 205 homes sold in the city limits, down from both the past two years.
For greater Lyon County, the 53 homes sold last month were actually slightly ahead of the 51 homes sold a year ago. Like Emporia, median sale prices was up — in Lyon County’s case, $31,000 from June 2022. Homes are selling within five days of listing on average and there is a month’s worth of supply on the market.
Year-to-date home sales are still lagging behind the past two years with 171 homes sold through June.
