A Wichita resident was hospitalized after his vehicle collided with a guardrail on Interstate 35 Friday afternoon.
Lyon County Deputies, Fire and EMS were called to I-35 mile marker 133 just after 4:20 pm. According to Deputy Nathan Rabkin, 22-year-old Jaden Ann Eck was traveling northbound at Interstate 35 mile marker 133 in a 2018 Honda Civic just after 4:20 pm. Rankin says severe weather conditions caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a guardrail trapping Eck inside.
Once on scene crews extricated Eck from the vehicle and transported her to Newman Regional Health by ambulance with “non-life threatening injuries.”
Eck was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.
