The schedule is set for the fifth annual No Coast Film Festival — and No Coast organizers are getting ready for their first-ever foray into a music video event.
Assistant Director Rosalie Krenger says there will be 71 films as part of the traditional film festival. Krenger says there were about 200 submissions, with entries from across the world.
The full schedule is posted online at nocoastfilmfest.com, with the festival Aug. 25-27 at the Emporia Granada Theatre.
Meanwhile, No Coast is also taking submissions for a special music video festival as part of the Halfway to Everywhere Music and Arts Festival in early September. Krenger says this has been a goal of No Coast administrators for several years, but the event didn’t fit the film festival activities — so it was broken out into its own activity this year.
The music video festival will be at 627 Event Space, 627 Commercial, on Sept. 2. Musicians and video producers wanting to submit their work for the festival can go online to filmfreeway.com/halfwaytoeverywhere and used the promo code kvoe23 for a 50-percent discount on their submissions. The video festival will be free for residents to attend.
