Sunday will be the latest in a string of days with low overall thunderstorm and severe weather chances.
The National Weather Service has a slight chance of thunderstorm activity from mid-afternoon to late evening. There is also a marginal severe weather risk for wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail to the size of eggs. The Weather Service says the environment is favorable for storm activity, but a lack of trigger mechanisms means overall storm development is unclear.
Lyon and several surrounding counties were in a severe thunderstorm watch Saturday. There were pockets of brief heavy rainfall scattered areawide, but no severe weather was reported. Rain totals as reported to KVOE News:

High temperatures will be in the mid-90s Sunday and it gets extremely hot for the rest of the week. High temperatures should reach 98 Monday and be near to above 100 through Saturday. Projected heat index readings have been listed as 103-108 all week.
