Once again, Grace United Methodist Church is celebrating the upcoming start of the new school year by providing free shoes to local students.
The church will hold its annual Kicks 4 Kids giveaway Saturday at the church, 2 Neosho Street, from 9 am to 2 pm. In addition to shoes, several free screenings and treatments will also be offered Saturday according to event spokesman Russ Conrade on KVOE’s Morning Show earlier this week.
Conrade adds the church has more than 200 pairs of shoes available and if they do not have the right size on hand for a child the church will place another order Monday and have those available for pickup prior to the start of the school year.
No pre-registration is needed and there is no income qualifying in order for families to pick up shoes, however, all children must be accompanied by an adult. For questions or more information contact Grace United Methodist Church by calling 620-342-2240.
