An investigation continues into possible illegal gaming machines seized from an Emporia convenience store two months ago.
Emporia Police and the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission seized five machines, an ATM and an unspecified amount of cash from the BP at Sixth and Prairie in late May after tips about suspected illegal activity.
Police Capt. Lisa Hayes says officers helped the investigation, but they have ended their involvement in this case as the Racing and Gaming Commission remains as the lead agency. Representatives from the state gaming commission have not returned a call from KVOE News seeking an update. There is no word on arrests or suspects.
