While Lyon County begins a rework of its overall website, one county department has finalized a brand-new online site.
The Sheriff’s Office website is now available to the public at lyoncountyso.com. Sheriff Jeff Cope says this completes a lengthy process to revamp the website — and it comes with a long-sought feature by the public and local media.
This comes as Lyon County is in the process of finding a vendor for its overall website, lyoncounty.org. Requests for proposals are due back to the Lyon County Commission by the end of August. Once a vendor is selected, it could take six months to develop and test a website before declaring it suitable for rollout.
Cope says residents can access the new Sheriff’s Office website directly or by going to lyoncounty.org and finding Sheriff under the Government drop-down tab.
