The Veterans Administration’s Eastern Kansas Healthcare System has received the highest possible quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
CMS recently gave the VA 5 stars in its annual overall hospital quality ratings, reflecting care levels for mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience and hospital environment and timely and effective care.
VA says nearly 70 percent of its hospitals received either four or five stars through CMS, above the non-VA percentage of 41 percent.
KVOE will have its monthly update on VA medical matters at 8:50 am Tuesday. Dr. Michael Black and Sandi Jensen will discuss psychiatric wellness and recovery programs.
