A young man whose cancer battle was well-known locally passed away this week.
Alex Muckenthaler was 22 when he died Wednesday.
Muckenthaler developed Burkitt’s lymphoma in 2011 and was in remission when he developed acute myeloid leukemia. He alternated between remission and cancer treatments the rest of his life.
Visitation will be at Sacred Heart Church at 6 pm Sunday at Sacred Heart Church, with a rosary following at 7 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Monday at Sacred Heart, with burial following at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
