The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for portions of the KVOE listening area to begin the work week.
Lyon, Coffey and Morris counties are under the advisory beginning at 1 pm Monday and continuing through 9 pm Tuesday. A separate warning is also in place for Chase County from noon Monday to 9 pm Tuesday.
Forecasts are calling for highs of 100-103 between Monday and Tuesday with heat index values possibly as high as 105. Meanwhile, an excessive heat warning continues for Greenwood County.
