A number of infrastructure-related financial matters will take precedence for the Emporia City Commission when they convene for their regular action and study meetings Wednesday.
Commissioners will consider approving a project award for the Mahtropolis Addition to Bruce Davis Construction for more than $500,000. A bid for Emporia’s 12th Avenue elevated storage tank and a contract design with Emporia State University for the same project will see consideration.
Consideration of a design contract with BG Consultants for the city’s southeast transmission line, the purchase of turbidimeters for just over $56,000, improvements for Sunset Lake’s stormwater pond and a CDBG-CVR grant public hearing will also take place. Commissioners could also adopt the standard traffic ordinance for Kansas Cities.
One executive session is also planned before commissioners move into their regular study session. Items on that agenda will include proposed revisions to a Kansas statute related to Rural Housing Incentive Districts.
Wastewater treatment plant instrumentation, board appointment policy and appointments to the city’s homelessness advisory board will also be discussed. The meetings begin at 11 am inside of the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
