Lyon County residents need to be watching for official revenue neutral notices in their mailboxes this week.
Lyon County Clerk Tammy Vopat says the notices will look like a tax bill, but they are not invoices.
Assessed valuations, proposed budgets and tentative differences in tax amounts per district will also be included. Vopat says all but six of the county’s 39 taxing entities are raising their revenue-neutral rates.
After vendor issues caused new valuation tax notices to be re-sent last year, Vopat says the notices this year are correct. Last year’s issues forced republishing of the 2023 Lyon County and Emporia Recreation Commission budgets, although no budgetary changes were needed with either document.
