The Emporia State women’s basketball team’s preparation for its trip to Italy is about to close.
On Tuesday evening, the Lady Hornets held their second intrasquad scrimmage in front of several members of the community. Not only are the Lady Hornets continuing their preparation on the basketball court, but they’re doing activities off the court as well. Some of those activities have been team dinners and learning more about Italy.
Sophomore Stevie Stinchcomb says the Lady Hornets have become a collaborative unit.
Junior Tylieea Wallace, a transfer from Kansas Wesleyan, says this time together is beneficial heading into the upcoming season.
Coach Brian Ostermann says the Lady Hornets are taking full advantage of their time together.
Prior to the Lady Hornets departing for Italy on Monday, one more Lady Hornet Basketball Camp will be held on Wednesday. It’ll be a 3-point shooters camp for Grades 5-12. The camp costs $30 per camper and will take place in Gym C of the HPER Building.
Session 1 will be for grades 5-8 and will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. with check-in beginning at 4:30 p.m. Session 2 will be for grades 9-12 and will take place from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. with check-in beginning at 7 p.m.
