Two Melvern residents were arrested on suspicion of illegal drug activity, and one of the two was arrested on suspected contraband trafficking as part of a traffic stop in Osage County this week.
Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells says the traffic stop was at the intersection of Kansas Highway 31 and East 341st Road shortly before 1 pm Tuesday. Wells says a deputy deployed a K-9, which alerted to illegal narcotics.
Both the driver, 60-year-old Gregory Wendt, and the passenger, 52-year-old Holly McGinnis, were arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. McGinnis was also arrested on suspicion of trafficking contraband in a correctional facility.
Formal charges are currently pending.
