Waterfowl, doves and chickens were all part of this year’s 4-H poultry show Sunday.
Among the contestants this year was Sarah Beth Pringle, who brought a Silkie chicken and a pen of three meat birds. She says there’s a lot of preparation involved, with a little extra primping for the Silkies.
Pringle admits she got some prime real estate under a fan during the heat of last week, saying a lot of competitors had to bring their own fans or ice to keep themselves and their animals cool. She also says her time in 4-H has been a great learning experience for her.
