Formal charges are pending against an Alta Vista City Council member accused of exploiting a child.
Wabaunsee County Undersheriff Eric Kirsch says deputies were told of alleged child exploitation Monday. They responded to the 300 block of Elm in Alta Vista, met with 57-year-old Kenneth Seidens and arrested him on suspicion of aggravated sexual battery, aggravated criminal sodomy and contributing to a child’s misconduct based on what Kirsch says was unspecified evidence at the scene.
Kirsch says the child was “made safe.” Other details about the case are pending.
