Hartford-Neosho Rapids firefighters responded to a reported structure fire Monday evening, but the situation wasn’t as bad as it could have been.
Crews from Hartford-Neosho Rapids and Olpe, along with Lyon County deputies, were sent to 112 West Osage Avenue in Hartford just before 9 pm Monday. Hartford-Neosho Rapids Fire Chief Greg Zumbrunn tells KVOE News the initial report dealt with a fire possibly involving the structure and attached porch. The homeowner got the fire out with minimal damage to the porch and no damage to the actual house.
Zumbrunn says the cause was a tiki torch close to the porch. No injuries were reported.
