Kansas Gas Service will continue an investigation into a reported gas leak at Emporia’s Sacred Heart School.
Emporia Fire was called out just after 8 am, with Kansas Gas called out soon afterward. Emporia Fire Battalion Chief Ryan Conley tells KVOE News the strongest smell was in the kitchen, although the presence of gas hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Sacred Heart School was evacuated as a precaution. No other buildings on the campus, including the church, needed evacuation. No injuries have been reported.
