Lyon County deputies say they have arrested a Topeka man after a reported injury crash near Neosho Rapids on Friday.
Lyon County Deputy Benjamin Folks says a two-vehicle crash was noted at Kansas Highway 130 and Road 170, just south of Interstate 35 and about two miles north of Neosho Rapids, at 7:15 am. The person reporting the crash indicated the driver of one vehicle, a 2009 Scion, was trying to leave the wreck site but couldn’t — so that person was reported as leaving westbound on foot.
Once deputies arrived a few minutes later, they say they found the subject, later identified as Aramis Hernandez, trying to get into a semi parked on an Interstate exit ramp nearby. After being taken to Newman Regional Health for suspected minor injuries, Hernandez was taken to the Lyon County Jail on suspicion of unspecified charges connected to the wreck and intoxication.
