Two major housing developments in Emporia continue moving forward.
On KVOE’s Morning Show this week, City Engineer Jim Ubert said the Mahtropolis subdivision near Trusler Sports Complex has hit one milestone already with the installation of water and sanitary sewer lines, although final testing hasn’t taken place yet.
The Mahtropolis development is adding nearly 30 homes to Emporia’s inventory.
Separately, pre-construction work continues for the Kretsinger housing addition near the David Traylor Zoo. Ubert says this project is in the design phase, with a goal of bidding the project by this fall and installing both streets and underground utilities by next summer.
The Kretsinger tract is cleared to bring over 50 homes to far south Emporia.
