Greenwood County deputies say they arrested one juvenile on suspicion of rape this past weekend.
Authorities took a report of a sex offense involving an alleged juvenile victim in Eureka on Saturday. The arrested juvenile was taken to “secure detention” out of Greenwood County.
The suspect name’s has not been released. Additional details are pending.
In addition, Greenwood County deputies are investigating after an apparent drowning incident in Eureka last week.
Greenwood County Dispatch got a 911 call about a body floating in the Blue Stem Lodge’s outdoor pool shortly after 8 am Wednesday. Deputies say they found the body of 27-year-old Kevin Daniel Dynes of Phoenix.
Autopsy results are currently pending. Funeral services have not been announced.
Separately Wednesday, deputies were involved in a short chase in Madison. Deputies say the incident began in the 200 block of South Third and was reported shortly after 10:15 pm after a domestic confrontation. Deputies also say Gregory Dyrness fled the scene and was found in the 100 block of North Fourth after crashing his vehicle.
Formal charges are pending, but Dyrness was held on suspicion of battery against law enforcement, battery, domestic battery and other charges.
On Thursday, Greenwood County deputies removed an unspecified number of “domestic animals” from a Madison home as part of an investigation into allegations of a dependent adult being mistreated. The investigation started after a request by Adult Protective Services. Further details about both aspects of this case are pending, as are formal charges.
