July’s housing data from the Sunflower Association of Realtors indicates homes are still selling almost as fast as they are listed on the market.
Emporia had 45 homes sold last month, up from 42 in July 2022 but down from the 56 homes sold in June. Homes were on the market an average of five days before they sold, comparable to numbers seen for over a year.
Nearly 40 new listings were finalized in July. There is just over a month’s worth of supply for the Emporia market.
So far this year, there have been 250 homes sold, down from 279 last year to date and 300 from two years ago.
For greater Lyon County outside the Emporia city limits, home sales went from 38 in July 2022 to 39 last month. Homes went from listing to closing within four days on average.
There were 35 new listings last month, and the Lyon County housing market has just over a month’s worth of supply.
Year-to-date, there have been 210 home sales, down from 243 last year and 251 two years ago.
