A residential intersection in west central Emporia remains closed for repairs after a water main break nearly a week ago.
The water pipe failed in the intersection of Ninth and West on Aug. 8, causing water service issues along Ninth from Congress to Oak and on West from Sixth to Grove.
Repairs began Friday and continued Monday. Work planned Tuesday — possibly all day — will shut off water service for a number of residents nearby. The city says it has used door-hanging notices to alert those residents.
There is no official timetable for reopening the intersection.
