A Topeka man is in custody in Osage County following a traffic stop Saturday evening.
According to Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells, a sheriff’s deputy conducted a stop at the intersection of 173rd Road and US Highway 75 at 10:25 pm. During that stop, illegal narcotics were allegedly found in the vehicle driven by 62-year-old Kenneth Buckingham of Topeka.
Buckingham was then arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of paraphernalia, trafficking contraband into a correctional facility, driving while suspended or revoked and having no proof of liability insurance. Buckingham was taken to the Osage County Jail where he remains at last word.
Formal charges are pending.
