The Emporia Children’s Choir is set for its second session beginning soon.
Rehearsals begin next Tuesday, August 22 from 6-6:45 p.m. at St Mark’s Lutheran Church at 1508 W. 12th Avenue.
On KVOE’s Morning Show Tuesday, founder Anna Ryan says there will be several different changes for the choir during this session. One of which is expanding the choir for children in grades 4-8. Ryan says the choir was previously just for children in grades 4-6.
Along with a wider range of children being involved, Ryan will co-direct the choir with Chase County Jr/Sr. High School Music Teacher David Magana.
Ryan says the first session went well and the turnout was great.
Rehearsals will be every Tuesday until October 3. Ryan says there will be several opportunities for the choir to perform. The choir’s joint concert entitled “We Sing” with Emporia Middle School, Emporia High School, and Emporia State University is set for October 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Emporia High School.
There is no cost for children to be involved and there’s no audition process. To enroll, contact Ryan at (620) 481-6287 or by email at annaryan333@gmail.com.
