Just three months after celebrating a great 2022-23 campaign, the United Way of the Flint Hills is getting set to launch its 2023-24 fundraiser Thursday.
The United Way will host its annual campaign kickoff event Thursday night at the Gufler Mansion, 612 West 12th Avenue. United Way Director Mickey Edwards, a guest of KVOE’s Newsmaker 2 segment Wednesday, says there are a lot of exciting events on the calendar for this year’s campaign.
Once again the event will coincide with the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce’s business after-hours event and will include drinks, door prizes and chamber announcements.
This year’s campaign will be spearheaded by campaign chair and local realtor Lynn Cunningham who was announced as the chair during the United Way’s campaign celebration in May. Last year’s campaign managed to bring in a little more than $435,100 to assist better than 20 community partners across eight counties.
