Comedian Tim Moffet had a jam-packed Anderson Building in stitches during the annual Flint Hills Beef Fest steak feed Saturday night.
Moffet’s performance followed the annual awards banquet. The winners were as follows.
*Grass Futurity steers: Jim and Donna Bates – Galesburg
*Grandstand steers: Mushrush Ranches – Daniel Mushrush – Strong City
*Grass Futurity heifers: Willow Creek Angus – Derek and Kerri Jackson – Council Grove
*Grandstand heifers: Haun Ranch – Brad and Michelle Haun – Fall River
*Grand prize steers: Jim and Donna Bates, Galesburg
*Grand prize heifers: Haun Ranch – Brad and Michelle Haun – Fall River
The steak dinner closed down a day’s worth of activities that began with the cornhole tournament and free hamburger feed courtesy of the Beef Fest committee and KVOE. Saturday’s list of activities followed the annual Livestocker Show, Beef Producers Seminar, Ranch Feed and Ranch Rodeo Friday.
Beef Fest will conclude Sunday with the golf tournament at the Emporia Golf Course.
