Area Girl Scouts are encouraged to learn more about one specific outdoor activity as part of an upcoming camp near Emporia.
“Taking AIM” is designed to let girls from kindergarten to fifth grade learn more about archery, including proper shooting and aiming techniques. While archery isn’t permitted for kindergarten and first-grade students, they can practice other aiming games.
The event is 2-4 pm Sept. 10 at Camp Double E, 794 Road 200, just northwest of Emporia. Girls and parents who can’t attend but want to learn more about Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland can call 888-686-MINT or go online to kansasgirlscouts.org.
